After having sex, I noticed a light spot of blood and experienced lower abdominal pain the next morning. An ultrasound revealed a 2.5 cm clot, and my doctor advised complete rest for a month. She mentioned an 80% chance of it dissolving. Should I be greatly concerned? I'm worried.
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is understandable to be concerned after finding a clot during pregnancy, but it is important to stay calm and follow your doctor's advice. The presence of a clot does not necessarily indicate a serious problem, as clots can occur in early pregnancy without causing harm to the baby or mother. Resting and avoiding strenuous activities will help reduce the risk of complications. The fact that your doctor mentioned an 80% chance of the clot dissolving is reassuring. However, if you experience worsening symptoms such as heavy bleeding or severe pain, it is crucial to contact your doctor immediately for further evaluation and guidance. Remember to take care of yourself physically and emotionally during this time, as stress can also impact your well-being.
