asked Feb 6, 2021 in Pregnancy Period General by Nomhlangano Lina
I'm currently 22 weeks and 2 days pregnant, and this is my third pregnancy. Every time I hold in my urine for a long period, I notice some bleeding, but it goes away. Should I be concerned about this? Is it normal?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is not considered normal to experience bleeding after holding in urine for a long time during pregnancy. While occasional spotting or light bleeding can occur due to hormonal changes or cervical irritation, persistent or heavy bleeding should be evaluated by a healthcare provider. It is important to consult with your doctor or midwife to determine the cause of the bleeding and ensure the health and well-being of both you and your baby. They may recommend further tests or examinations to rule out any underlying issues such as urinary tract infections, bladder problems, or cervical abnormalities. Remember that every pregnancy is unique, so it's always better to seek professional medical advice when experiencing any concerning symptoms.
