When can an abdominal ultrasound scan detect a baby during pregnancy?

I am currently 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant. During an abdominal ultrasound scan, the doctor was unable to see anything. I am feeling worried about this situation. Can you please provide some information on when an abdominal ultrasound scan typically shows the presence of a baby during pregnancy?

My doctor ddnt see anything too at 4 weeks 3 days, I went back there at 7 weeks and got a heartbeat. So its normal. Just wait out a bit.

Your doctor probably will not see anything till at least 6weeks could even be longer till 9weeks every pregnancy is different. Do not stress yourself that is not good especially in first trimester. Just relax by the next time you go in to the office you should see a little pea on the screen and hopefully hear a heart beat but if no heart beat thats normal too may take a little longer to hear depending on your size.
