I am 8 and a half months pregnant and noticed big white clumps in my panties after sitting down to pee. Could this be a sign that I am losing my mucus plug? If so, does it mean that active labor will begin soon?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

Losing the mucus plug is a common occurrence towards the end of pregnancy and can be an indication that labor is approaching. The mucus plug acts as a protective barrier for the cervix during pregnancy, but as the body prepares for childbirth, it may start to dislodge. The appearance of big white clumps in your panties could indeed be your mucus plug. However, it's important to note that every woman's experience can vary. Some women may lose their mucus plug weeks before labor starts, while others may not notice its loss at all. Losing the mucus plug doesn't necessarily mean that active labor will begin immediately, but it is a positive sign that your body is progressing towards childbirth. It's always best to consult with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns or questions about changes happening in your body during pregnancy. They can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation.
