When I am vomiting, urine comes out. Is this a normal occurrence or should I be concerned?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is not normal for urine to come out while vomiting and may indicate a medical issue. This could be due to a condition called stress urinary incontinence, where the muscles that control urination weaken during episodes of increased abdominal pressure, such as vomiting. It is recommended to consult with a healthcare professional who can evaluate your symptoms and provide appropriate treatment options. In some cases, lifestyle changes, pelvic floor exercises, or medication may help manage this condition.

Ugh, it’s such an awkward thing to talk about but totally more common than you’d think. When you puke or even sneeze hard, the pressure shoots down on your bladder and your pelvic floor muscles are already softer from hormones. I had a few embarrassing episodes during my second trimester and ended up keeping a stash of pantyliners in my purse. Friends of mine swear by doing Kegel exercises to strengthen the muscles down there, and making sure you empty your bladder more often so there’s less liquid to escape. As long as it’s just a few drops and there’s no pain or burning when you pee, it’s usually just one of those lovely pregnancy quirks. If you feel a gush or notice a weird smell/colour, it’s worth mentioning to your midwife just to rule out leaking fluid or infection.
