Honestly, I think every pregnant woman goes through periods of worry and stress – we’re human, and growing a tiny person is a big deal! In my experience, the occasional anxious day or bout of nerves didn’t have any obvious impact on my babies. My eldest arrived happy and healthy despite me juggling work deadlines and toddler tantrums through most of that pregnancy.

My midwife used to remind me that our bodies are designed to cushion our little ones from the ups and downs of our daily lives. Babies are incredibly resilient. That said, I could feel a difference in my own body when I was really overwhelmed – my sleep suffered, my appetite dipped and I felt more tension.
