Is it safe for pregnant women in their 26th month to include flaxseed in their diet?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

Yes, it is generally safe for pregnant women in their 26th month to consume flaxseed as part of a balanced diet. Flaxseed is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and other nutrients that can be beneficial during pregnancy. However, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider before making any significant changes to your diet or adding new supplements. They can provide personalized advice based on your specific health needs and any potential risks associated with consuming flaxseed. Additionally, moderation is key when incorporating flaxseed into your diet, as excessive consumption may have mild laxative effects.

I started adding a bit of ground flax to my oatmeal and smoothies around the end of my second trimester because I was sooo constipated. My midwife said a tablespoon or two a day is fine and can help with fibre and omega‑‰ oils, just don’t go crazy with huge amounts. I found it kept things moving and never caused any issues for me or baby. As with anything in pregnancy moderation is key – if you have any concerns just mention it at your next prenatal visit.
