asked Nov 9, 2022 in Pregnancy Period General by Lala
I am unsure about the date of my last missed period, but I believe it was around 2 or 3 weeks before the 25th. I had sexual intercourse with my partner during that time and experienced some bleeding which could have been implantation bleeding. I would appreciate any thoughts or insights before my first appointment on Thursday. Additionally, I have a 10-year-old child and found out about my pregnancy at one week. I took two dollar store tests which showed a faint but visible line on both tests. Can anyone provide guidance or share similar experiences?

It can be challenging to determine the exact date of your last missed period, but based on your estimate of it being around 2 or 3 weeks prior to the 25th, it is possible that you experienced implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding typically occurs around the time when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine lining.

Since you have a scheduled appointment on Thursday, it's great that you will soon be able to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide more accurate information and address any concerns you may have.

Regarding your positive pregnancy test results from the dollar store tests, even if the lines were faint, they are still considered positive results. Faint lines can indicate early pregnancy as the hormone levels may not be as concentrated in the urine at this stage.

Every woman's experience with pregnancy can vary, so it's essential to remember that what worked for someone else might not necessarily apply to your situation. However, many women do experience implantation bleeding and go on to have healthy pregnancies.

In terms of guidance or shared experiences from others who may have gone through similar situations, online forums or support groups dedicated to pregnancy can be helpful resources. These platforms allow individuals to connect with others who have experienced similar symptoms or situations and can provide insights, advice, and support.

Remember to stay positive and take care of yourself during this exciting time. It's natural to have questions and concerns, but your healthcare provider will be able to provide the most accurate information and guidance based on your specific circumstances.

It can be so confusing in those early weeks, esp when you don't know exactly when you ovulated. With my second baby I wasn't tracking very closely either and I had a bit of light spotting a few days before I tested. I thought it was my period starting but it was just a couple of spots and then gone. My dollar store tests also showed a super faint line at first that only got darker a few days later. From talking to friends and my own experience, implantation bleeding is usually just a small amount of pink or brown spotting and then stops. A faint line is still a positive, even if it's light. I just treated myself as pregnant until my first appointment and took it easy. If it helps settle your nerves you could try another test in a couple of days, but honestly early tests are faint for lots of us. Hoping your appointment goes well – congrats!
