Hi, I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and my baby seems to be measuring larger than expected for its gestational age. The baby's growth is equivalent to that of a 39-week-old fetus. Should I still wait until forty weeks based on my last menstrual period? Is this normal?

It is not uncommon for babies to measure slightly ahead or behind their gestational age during pregnancy. While your baby may be measuring larger than expected at 37 weeks, it does not necessarily mean that you need to wait until forty weeks based on your last menstrual period. Your healthcare provider will monitor your baby's growth and make recommendations accordingly. They may suggest inducing labor earlier if there are concerns about the size of the baby or other factors that could affect your health or the baby's well-being. It is important to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider and follow their guidance throughout your pregnancy journey.
