asked Feb 28, 2022 in Baby Health During Pregnancy by Mrs Chand
I'm currently in my 5th month of pregnancy, which is my first. However, I haven't felt any movement from my baby yet. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is common for first-time moms to not feel their baby's movements until later in the pregnancy, usually around the 20th week or even later. This can vary from woman to woman and depends on factors such as the position of the placenta and the baby's size. If you have a larger build or if your placenta is positioned towards the front of your uterus (anterior placenta), it may take longer for you to feel those first flutters.

However, if you are concerned about not feeling any movement at all by your 20th week, it's always best to consult with your healthcare provider. They can perform an ultrasound or listen for the baby's heartbeat using a Doppler device to ensure everything is progressing as it should.

Remember that every pregnancy is unique, and some women may feel their baby move earlier than others. As your pregnancy progresses, you will likely start noticing more pronounced movements like kicks and rolls. Enjoy this special time and don't hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider if you have any concerns along the way.

In first pregnancy baby movements can be delayed. It's quite normal. No need to worry.

People are different, but at least at 5 month you will be able to feel  something, not really baby kicks but funny movement. Like fish swimming. I got my kicks at 6 month. If don't feel good about something always check in with your Dr. Good luck mama
