asked Jan 31, 2022 in Baby Health During Pregnancy by Shugufta
I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and have been diagnosed with a right ovarian cyst measuring 2.5 cm in size. I am concerned about the potential impact of this cyst on my pregnancy. Could it pose any risks or complications? Should I be worried? What steps should I take to ensure a healthy pregnancy despite the presence of this cyst?

Hello. Did they say what kind of cyst it is?  Mine was called a dermoid cyst and had to be removed at some point anyway because these don't go away on their own. I'm 9 weeks pregnant. 2 weeks ago I had emergency laproscopic ovarian cyst removal on the left ovary which was much bigger than yours (the size of a grapefruit). You can safely go through pregnancy with the cyst and should not be harmful to the baby. The only reason why mine was removed right away was because of pain and little blood going to my ovary. The cyst was twisting like a water balloon on my cyst and cutting off circulation. I've had 2 sonograms since the surgery and thank god baby is fine and growing everyday. Since yours is so small and if there is no pain I don't think that they will remove until after you deliver your bundle of joy. Congratulations and good luck my friend. Hope this helped
