I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and recently experienced a heavy flow of bleeding during intercourse. Is this a normal occurrence? The bleeding stopped after I took a bath.

It is not uncommon for some women to experience bleeding during sex while pregnant, especially as the cervix becomes more sensitive and engorged with blood. However, it is always important to consult your healthcare provider to rule out any potential complications. They can assess your specific situation and provide guidance based on your medical history and individual circumstances. In some cases, bleeding during pregnancy may be harmless, caused by factors such as cervical irritation or hormonal changes. However, it can also be an indication of more serious conditions like placenta previa or placental abruption. To ensure the safety of you and your baby, it is crucial to seek professional advice promptly. Your healthcare provider may recommend abstaining from intercourse until they have evaluated the situation further. Remember, every pregnancy is unique, so it's essential to communicate openly with your healthcare provider throughout your journey for personalized guidance and support.

It could be normal, as your cervix is super tender right now. But depending on how severe; I'd consult with your doctor. This happened with my first pregnancy and she recommended pelvic rest for the rest of my pregnancy. Good luck!

I also bled after sex. Went straight to the dr. They did ultrasound and everything was normal.  He wanted to check umbilical cord fluid level and placenta... he said cervix can get irritated from the hormones and the act of sex not to worry. But I did go straight to get checked.  Bc it was not a lil bit of blood it was like more... a half a  pad full. I was also cramping a lil. But after check all was normal.  Dr said to just "take it easy" lol
