asked Nov 20, 2021 in Tests at Pregnancy by Paulina mwaendange
I am experiencing signs and symptoms of pregnancy, but my test results are negative even though I am 15 weeks along. What could be causing this discrepancy? Is there something wrong with me or the tests?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

Experiencing pregnancy symptoms while getting negative test results at 15 weeks can be confusing and concerning. There are several possible reasons for this discrepancy.

Firstly, it is important to ensure that you are using a reliable and accurate pregnancy test. Some home pregnancy tests may not always detect low levels of the pregnancy hormone (hCG) in your urine, especially if taken too early or if the test is expired or faulty.

Another possibility is that you may have experienced a chemical pregnancy, which is an early miscarriage that occurs shortly after implantation. In these cases, hCG levels rise briefly before dropping again, resulting in a negative test result.

It's also worth considering other factors that can cause similar symptoms to those of pregnancy, such as hormonal imbalances, stress, certain medications, or underlying health conditions.

If you continue to experience persistent symptoms and receive negative test results, it is recommended to consult with your healthcare provider. They can perform a blood test to measure hCG levels more accurately and conduct further investigations if necessary.

Remember that every individual's body is unique, and it's not uncommon for some women to experience false-negative results on home pregnancy tests despite being pregnant. Seeking professional medical advice will help determine the cause of your symptoms and provide appropriate guidance moving forward.

That's physically impossible. You're not pregnant. There's no way you're pregnant past 4 weeks if you're testing negative because babies can't grow without HCG, which is what the test looks for. You're probably dealing with a mental health condition (delusions) or another health condition like PCOS or endometriosis, but not pregnancy. Sorry. See a therapist or something but you're not pregnant.

Nothing is wrong dear. I went through the same thing with my first child, only blood tests came positive when I was 24weeks.

Go to a Gynae to confirm, so far thus normal
