I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and noticed a small amount of black blood in my underwear yesterday. Is this normal or should I be concerned? I had a miscarriage last year and it's causing me to panic.

It is understandable that you are feeling anxious due to your previous experience with miscarriage. While any bleeding during pregnancy can be concerning, it is important to remember that not all bleeding indicates a problem. In early pregnancy, spotting or light bleeding can occur for various reasons, such as implantation, hormonal changes, or cervical irritation. However, if the bleeding becomes heavy or is accompanied by severe pain or cramping, it is advisable to contact your healthcare provider immediately.

To ease your worries and ensure the well-being of your pregnancy, it is recommended that you reach out to your doctor or midwife for further evaluation. They will be able to assess your specific situation and provide appropriate guidance based on their expertise and knowledge of your medical history.

Remember that every pregnancy is unique, and what may be considered normal for one person may not be the same for another. By seeking professional advice, you can gain reassurance and peace of mind during this crucial time.

I was told by an OBGYN and a friend of mine that's currently pregnant that it's perfectly normal to have some break through bleeding while pregnant so don't worry your self to much cause worrying and stressing can cause a miscarriage but having some spots of blood is normal.
