asked Aug 8, 2021 in Tests at Pregnancy by wendy
I had 3 positive digital pregnancy tests a month ago, but a private scan couldn't detect the pregnancy. I should be 8 weeks 2 days based on my last period. I've taken 3 more tests since the scan, all negative. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm confused and worried about my symptoms.

It can be frustrating and confusing to receive conflicting results from pregnancy tests. False negatives can occur due to various reasons, such as testing too early or using a low-sensitivity test. In some cases, it may take longer for the pregnancy hormone (hCG) to reach detectable levels in urine or for the embryo to develop enough for detection on an ultrasound. If you're experiencing pregnancy symptoms and have concerns, it's best to consult with your healthcare provider who can provide further guidance and potentially order blood tests or additional scans if necessary. They will be able to assess your individual situation and provide accurate information and support during this time of uncertainty. Remember that every person's body is different, and false negatives are not uncommon.
