I am currently 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant, but there is no baby visible in my uterus. However, I can feel fetal movements, my belly is swollen, and still soft. I have all the symptoms of pregnancy. Is it possible that I am having an abdominal pregnancy?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

An abdominal pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside of the uterus, usually in the abdomen. It is a rare condition that can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated promptly. While your symptoms may raise concerns about an abdominal pregnancy, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis.

There are several factors that could contribute to your situation. One possibility is that you may have experienced an ectopic pregnancy where the fertilized egg implants outside of the uterus but within the fallopian tube or another location within the abdomen. This can cause similar symptoms as an abdominal pregnancy.

To determine whether you are experiencing an abdominal pregnancy or another condition, your healthcare provider will likely perform a thorough examination and order diagnostic tests such as ultrasound or MRI scans. These imaging techniques can help visualize the location of the fetus and confirm whether it is indeed implanted outside of the uterus.

If an abdominal pregnancy is confirmed, immediate medical intervention will be necessary to ensure both your safety and that of the fetus. Treatment options may include surgical removal of the fetus through laparotomy or laparoscopy.

It's important not to jump to conclusions without proper medical evaluation. While some symptoms may align with those of an abdominal pregnancy, other conditions could also present with similar signs. Consulting with your healthcare provider will provide you with accurate information and guide you towards appropriate care.

Remember to seek prompt medical attention if you experience severe pain, heavy bleeding, dizziness, or any other concerning symptoms during your pregnancy journey.

Your doctor ordered an ultrasound and it's not in the uterus? Then they need to do something it could be dangerous.
