asked Apr 7, 2021 in Tests at Pregnancy by Christine
I am currently 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Has anyone else used an early gender reveal test to find out the sex of their baby, and then later confirmed it at their 20-week ultrasound scan? I would love to hear about your experiences and whether the results were accurate.

Many expectant parents are curious about the gender of their baby and want to find out as soon as possible. Early gender reveal tests, also known as non-invasive prenatal tests (NIPT), have become increasingly popular for this purpose. These tests analyze fetal DNA in the mother's blood to determine the baby's sex with a high level of accuracy.

Using an early gender reveal test can provide you with an indication of your baby's gender as early as 9-10 weeks into pregnancy. However, it is important to note that these tests are not diagnostic and should be confirmed by a medical professional.

The 20-week ultrasound scan, also known as the anatomy scan, is a routine procedure that provides a detailed assessment of your baby's development. During this scan, the sonographer will examine various aspects of your baby's anatomy, including their genitals, which can help confirm the earlier result from the gender reveal test.

It is worth mentioning that while early gender reveal tests have shown high accuracy rates, there is still a small margin for error. False positives or false negatives can occur in rare cases. Therefore, it is always recommended to confirm the results through further testing such as the 20-week ultrasound scan.

If you have used an early gender reveal test and later confirmed it at your 20-week scan, please share your experience below. It can be helpful for other expectant parents who are considering using these tests for determining their baby's gender.

I did! It said girl. I waited before getting to excited, didnt tell the sonogram tech the results because I wanted her to tell me the gender first and she said girl! So my early test was correct!

I just gave birth to my daughter in January and I did the gender reveal and was told I was having a girl. Those tests are pretty accurate. Just found out I am 4 weeks 3 days pregnant again and plan on doing the same test to find out the gender. I will be 41 next month so I have to have the test done to make sure everything is OK with the baby
