My last menstrual period was on January 9th, and during a recent scan, no heartbeat was detected. However, a fetal pole is visible along with a healthy sac. Is this normal or something to be worried about?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It can be concerning when no heartbeat is detected at 8 weeks of pregnancy, but it doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem. At this stage, the fetal pole and sac are positive signs indicating a developing pregnancy. However, it's important to follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and monitoring. They may recommend additional tests or ultrasounds to determine the viability of the pregnancy. In some cases, the absence of a heartbeat could indicate an early miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, but only further examination can provide more accurate information. It's essential to communicate openly with your doctor and seek their guidance throughout this process.
