I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. When is the ideal time for me to schedule my first prenatal appointment with a doctor? Is there anything specific I need to do before the appointment?

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It is recommended to schedule your first prenatal appointment when you are around 8-10 weeks pregnant. This allows the doctor to confirm your pregnancy, estimate your due date, and perform necessary tests and screenings. Before the appointment, make sure to gather information about your medical history, any medications or supplements you are taking, and any concerns or questions you may have. Additionally, start taking prenatal vitamins if you haven't already and maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating nutritious foods and staying physically active.

I'm in England and we see our midwife at 8 weeks or just after as they do bloods and book us in for scans and everything
