Is it normal for pregnant women to experience serious itching all over their body during pregnancy? What could be the possible causes and remedies for this condition?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

Itching is a common symptom experienced by many pregnant women, especially in the later stages of pregnancy. While mild itching is usually considered normal, experiencing serious itching all over the body may indicate an underlying condition that requires medical attention. The most common cause of itching during pregnancy is hormonal changes, which can lead to dry skin. However, other factors such as liver problems (cholestasis), allergies, or certain skin conditions like eczema or pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP) can also contribute to severe itching. If you are experiencing intense itchiness, it is important to consult your healthcare provider who can evaluate your symptoms and provide appropriate treatment options. They may recommend using moisturizers, avoiding hot showers or baths, wearing loose-fitting clothing made from natural fibers, and using fragrance-free products to alleviate itchiness. In some cases, medication may be prescribed to manage the symptoms effectively. Remember that every pregnancy is unique, so it's crucial to seek professional advice for proper diagnosis and personalized care.

Depends. If you have it everywhere like palms of hands, soles of the feet, sincerely everywhere where you almost scratch to bleeding...seek medical attention immediately. It could be a sign of poor liver function. Look up Chloestasis. If not it can just be dry skin and the stretching.

Mom of 5 here... I've had both. Just itching and Chloestasis.
