I am currently in my 5th week of pregnancy and have been experiencing back pain and constipation. Are these symptoms normal at this stage?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

Yes, it is common to experience back pain and constipation during the 5th week of pregnancy. Back pain can be caused by hormonal changes, ligament stretching, or increased pressure on the spine due to a growing uterus. Constipation is also a common symptom due to hormonal changes that slow down digestion and the pressure exerted by the expanding uterus on the intestines. To alleviate these symptoms, you can try gentle exercises, maintain good posture, drink plenty of water, eat fiber-rich foods, and consult your healthcare provider for safe remedies or medications if necessary.

Pregnant women often experience constipation, however it's too early to have back pain ...have you talked to your doctor? It might not be related to your pregnancy...ex: wrong position when you lift something, uncomfortable chair...

Hi!  To put your mind at ease,  yes back pain can happen in early pregnancy as well as the latter months. It's due to the surge in hormones progesterone and estrogen.   I have lower back pain as well and am 5 weeks.   I've had it for the last week.  It comes and goes.   It's dull as well. Hope this helps. ♥️
