I have missed my periods today is the 3rd day, but the pregnancy test shows a negative result. What could be the reason behind it? Why is it showing negative?

There can be several reasons for missing your periods and getting a negative pregnancy test result. It's important to understand that home pregnancy tests are not always accurate, especially if taken too early or if not done correctly. Other factors that can cause missed periods include hormonal imbalances, stress, excessive exercise, changes in weight or diet, certain medications, and underlying health conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or thyroid disorders. If you continue to miss your periods or have concerns about your fertility, it is recommended to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide further evaluation and guidance. They may suggest additional tests or examinations to determine the underlying cause of your missed periods and address any potential issues.

Some of us have can have a positive negative (shows positive, is actually negative.) Or negative positive (shows negative, is actually positive.) If you had sex less than 2 weeks ago, the results will be inconclusive showing negative or positive at random. Wait 14 days to take a test after having sex, and you might just need to go to a doctor and ask them to run a test. It would be the most accurate way to do so.
