Why was no heart beat detected during an abdominal scan at 7 weeks 6 days of pregnancy?

I am currently 7 weeks and 6 days pregnant, and during an abdominal scan, the doctor could not detect a heart beat. They have suggested another scan in 3 weeks. Why was the heart beat not detected?

Check again in a week's time. Was there a yolk sac?

Mine is also same today I had my USG scan it shows 5wk 6days gestation sac but no fetal pole or yolk sac but according to LMP I am 8wk pregnant...it recommend me to do scan after 1wk
