When I had chickenpox during pregnancy, it felt scary because of the fever and rash. I found that resting, staying hydrated and using cool oatmeal baths and calamine lotion helped soothe the itch and keep me comfortable. Keeping the fever down by staying cool and drinking plenty of water is important. Try to avoid scratching to prevent scarring, and sleep when you can. Many mums get through it and go on to have healthy babies. If anything doesn’t feel right or you’re worried, reach out to your care provider for reassurance.
