Is it safe to take Augmentin tablets for an ear infection during the first trimester of pregnancy?

I am currently in my first trimester of pregnancy and have been diagnosed with an ear infection. I have been prescribed Augmentin tablets by my doctor. Is it safe to take this medication during the first trimester? Are there any potential risks or side effects that I should be aware of?
