I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and experiencing a water-like discharge from my vagina multiple times a day. Is this considered normal during the 7th month of pregnancy?

It is not uncommon for pregnant women to experience increased vaginal discharge throughout their pregnancy. However, if you are noticing a water-like discharge specifically at 30 weeks, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider. While some increase in vaginal discharge is normal due to hormonal changes, excessive or watery discharge could be a sign of amniotic fluid leakage or other complications. Your healthcare provider will be able to evaluate your symptoms and determine if further investigation or treatment is necessary. It's always better to err on the side of caution and seek medical advice when experiencing any unusual symptoms during pregnancy.

I had this too around 29‑30 weeks; I was going through multiple pantyliners a day. My midwife said it’s just your body producing more watery cervical mucus to keep things clean and protect the baby. It often feels like a little gush when you stand up. It’s only concerning if it’s a steady trickle that soaks a pad quickly or has a sweet/bleachy smell like amniotic fluid. A few of my friends did the pad test and it turned out to be normal discharge. If you’re unsure or it’s tinged with blood, pop into triage for peace of mind, but most of the time it’s just one of those glamorous pregnancy things.
