Is it normal to experience abdominal pain after riding a motorbike and jumping while being 81 days pregnant? I am concerned about the well-being of my baby.
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is not advisable to engage in activities that involve excessive movement or impact during pregnancy, especially in the later stages. Jumping on a motorbike can put strain on your abdomen and potentially harm your baby. If you are experiencing pain in your tummy after this incident, it is important to seek medical attention immediately. Your healthcare provider will be able to assess the situation and determine if any further action needs to be taken. Remember, it is always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to the health and safety of both you and your baby during pregnancy.

Oh gosh, I can relate to the worry after doing something and then feeling every twinge! At a little over 11 weeks (around 80 days) your tiny bean is still tucked deep in your pelvis, surrounded by fluid and muscles that protect them from a fair bit of jostling. A quick bounce on a bike or a sudden jump can make your own ligaments and muscles protest though, especially the round ligaments that support the uterus.

After a bumpy car ride one day I had a dull ache for a while and it freaked me out. Rest, a warm bath and gentle stretching helped it ease off. If the pain is mild and there’s no bleeding, it’s usually just everything stretching and adjusting. Our bodies are surprisingly resilient! That said, I ended up avoiding anything too high-impact for my own comfort and peace of mind – we get plenty of time for fun stuff after baby arrives.

If you notice sharp pain, bleeding or it doesn’t settle with rest, give your midwife/doctor a call. They’re used to reassuring worried mums and can check you over if needed. Take it easy and don’t beat yourself up  you’re doing great.
