I am currently in my third trimester and my CBC results show a hemoglobin level of 8.5. Is this considered normal for someone who is 30 weeks pregnant?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is generally recommended for pregnant women to have a hemoglobin (HB) level between 11-12 g/dL. However, during pregnancy, it is common for HB levels to decrease due to increased blood volume and the body's demand for iron. A HB level of 8.5 at 30 weeks may be considered low and could indicate anemia. It is important to consult with your healthcare provider to determine if any intervention or treatment is necessary. They may recommend dietary changes, iron supplements, or further testing to identify the underlying cause and ensure both you and your baby remain healthy throughout your pregnancy.
