Is it safe for me to travel a distance of 150 km in my own vehicle when I am in the eighth month of pregnancy? I want to ensure the well-being of both myself and my baby during the journey.

It is generally considered safe for pregnant women to travel by car, even during the eighth month of pregnancy. However, there are certain precautions you should take to ensure your safety and that of your baby. Firstly, consult with your healthcare provider before embarking on any long-distance trip. They will be able to assess your specific situation and advise you accordingly. Additionally, make sure you wear your seatbelt properly throughout the journey, positioning it below your belly and across your hips. Take regular breaks during the trip to stretch your legs and prevent blood clots from forming. It's also important to stay hydrated and have snacks on hand in case you feel hungry or nauseous. Lastly, listen to your body - if you experience any discomfort or unusual symptoms during the journey, pull over and seek medical attention if necessary. By following these guidelines and taking necessary precautions, you can safely travel 150 km in your personal car while being eight months pregnant.

I did a similar trip around 8 months to visit my parents and it was fine. As long as you feel well and your pregnancy has been uncomplicated, a couple of hours in the car usually isn't a big deal. Make sure you have someone with you if possible, wear your seat belt below your bump, and stop every hour or so to stretch your legs and pee. Bring water and snacks and don't push yourself if you're tired. If you've had any issues like high blood pressure or are at risk of early labour, it's worth checking with your midwife. But for many of us, short road trips are still doable in the third trimester ❤️
