What to do if my 3-week-old baby is constantly sleepy?

Hi everyone, I would appreciate any suggestions from those who have experienced the same issue. My 3-week-old baby is always sleepy and only wakes up every 3-4 hours to feed. He falls asleep within 2 minutes of feeding and is not gaining much weight (only 300 grams in 2 weeks). He doesn't like formula and doesn't respond to stimulation. My doctor says it's normal and I just need to be patient. Is there anything else I can do to help him? Thank you.

My baby is 3 weeks old too and she is sleepy all the time. She also sleeps while breastfeeding... she didn't gain much weight either . We just need to be patient.

There is dream feed and active feed. When they breast feed while asleep it's dream feeding they will forget to suckle and go back to dream land. When that happens while breast feeding tickle her mod section of her toes to keep her active to feed. Try to reach five minutes of feeding hold her/him up to burp then onto the other breast if possible. 

But in reference to sleep it's normal they are growing at a fast rate so their only job is feed sleep poop worry not as they grow they will have less nap time as they adjust to the outside world.

Your baby is fine and health and you are doing a GREAT JOB.

Its normal  i have a 7 weeks old baby and when he was 3 till 6 weeks he was sleepy all time and not much active. Till 3 weeks babies don't gain to much weight, this is normal especially when they pas the jaundice on these week's that makes them sleepy a lot. Greetings mamma
