My baby is almost 7 months old and still refuses to eat solid food. I started introducing solids when he was 5 and a half months old, but he consistently closes his mouth, holds my hand firmly, and gives me a disapproving look. Despite my daily efforts, there has been no improvement. What should I do in this situation?

Try show him how you eat in front of him and act happy.

It takes a bit of time. I fed my 6 month old solids everyday & he only started really enjoying solids around 8.5-9 mo. One of the things he seemed to get into, eventually, was mashed butternut w mint, mashed banana with cinnamon, mashed sweet potato w coconut oil & basil. Just be consistent, let them play with the spoon here & there & make eating food fun (eat the food & say yummy & look super happy about). They also like eating small bits of food in momma's plate, but this applies when ur baby likes pick up small things with their pincer grip
