Is it safe for my three-month-old to prefer breastfeeding while lying down?

I recently started breastfeeding my baby in the lying position and noticed that she prefers it and suckles for longer periods. I'm exclusively breastfeeding and want to know if this preference will have any negative effects on her development or health.
