Is it normal for a 45-day-old newborn to stay awake for 10 hours without taking any naps? I am concerned about my baby's sleeping patterns.

10 hours is a long period of time for a newborn to stay up. It's recommended that you get the baby to sleep after staying up for 45-60 minutes maximum. Create an environment that will help get him/her to sleep like dimming the lights, rock him/her to sleep and make sure that he/she is well fed, you can try sleeping next to the baby to offer comfort

My baby has a similar issue. She is up for 4-6 hours at a time. I have been to the pediatrician with no help, since I am African it is believed that it may be a spiritual problem.

Mine did till 18 hours sometimes.. Try to take baby out for a walk and don't be shocked if the baby sleep too deep that does not respond for 1 hour. That is what happened to us after 18 and she fall asleep already in the elevator.
