I need to know if it is normal for my 18-day-old baby girl to be awake for around 6 hours and not sleep a lot. For example, today she woke up at 8.30 am and is still awake until now (it's 1.45 pm), and at night she sleeps around 3 hours before waking up to breastfeed.

That's normal as long as baby is having good feeding, poop and pee. My boy is 25 days old and he does the same thing sometimes

Try to help her fall asleep more often. She should be awake for 60-90 minutes, then sleep for 2h (then repeat). All this during day. Dont get me wrong, its nothing to worry about, but babies do progress faster when they sleep more. Play some mozart melodies, rock her to sleep. It will help you relax for a while as well. You too need rest.

My baby boy is 11 weeks old and he started sleeping through night even before he turned 1 month old. Now he sleeps around 10-12h per night (yes it's true!), without waking up. Then he sleeps like 3-4 more hours in total during day.

Every baby is different, but when they are tiny, they sure need a lot of sleep.
