My 52-day-old baby has irregular sleep patterns, waking frequently and sleeping for short periods. He eats little and falls asleep right after feeding, only to wake up shortly after. He rarely sleeps soundly for more than 2 hours at a time. How can I help him establish a normal sleep routine?

Full baby's stomach = more sleep for the baby.

Are you breastfeeding? Does he fall asleep while eating? Don't allow him to sleep before he finish eating. Play with his cheeks or something.

I allow my baby to fall asleep on my breast once I see he ate enough. I also bath and feed him right before the bed time. Bath helps with making him sleepy, and full stomach keeps him asleep for longer.
