Depends - does (s)he turn around himself/herself? If (s)he starts by sleeping on her/his back, and turns around himself/herself, and is able to turn around back again, it's ok (or so my healthcare provider said).
But they should NOT be PUT to sleep on their stomach, because of danger of suffocation.
